Recently, Practice Management Magazine (September 2008) did a technology survey where the top technology issues Doctors face today are directly related to EHR or EMR costs and implemenation.  Furthermore, the article explains that it found that the success of an electronic health/medical record conversion is dependant on workflow changes and training at implementation.

This survey is exactly why Physicians IT Group, LLC was formed in 2007.  We found that Doctors were forging ahead or being pulled into the digital age, but either way - the money was being spent.  However, within the first year less than half of the systems was being utalized by the practices.
